It's funny how many negative reviews this keyboard has generated. I will admit, my opinion is highly biased; Tron is the 1st movie I can remember seeing in the theatre and I've been a big fan since. But you kind of have to be to buy this, right? That said, I am not a PC gamer at all, I am a console gamer. That said, my review of this item will probably not be very harsh as the lack of features on the keyboard that would usually be found on other gaming keyboards does not bother me.
The keyboard is overall made of smooth plastic. One reviewer stated something about being able to see the molding flaws in the plastic because it is so smooth...this is not a criticism I understand at all. The plastic is thick and perfectly smooth. In fact, this is easily the heaviest keyboard I've ever picked up, even with the number pad detached. It most definitely does NOT feel like a toy. Well it could be worse, June 14, 2011 By This review is from: Razer TRON Gaming Keyboard (RZ03-00530100-R3U1) (Personal Computers) Like most of you I had been waiting for this keyboard since it was first announced. I bought it as soon as I found it at Fry's and they had a display model so I was able to see the difference in promo pics vs the real deal and bought it anyway.
I'm not unhappy with this nor am I dissapointed exactly but this had so much potential and maybe Disney being involved (license fee's aren't cheap!) impacted the actual production of the product. I do not feel that I got my money's worth with this.
Cons: The key's are extremely large making it hard to hit the right key on the fly without doing some finger acrobatics and they also feel a little stiff and cheap. Someone else mentioned an unresponsive space bar if not hit hard enough, I have had this problem with more than just the space bar.
The Rez effect is cool but does not always have the sound effect when turning it on same with De-rez when turning off.

Very Cool, May 14, 2011 By This review is from: Razer TRON Gaming Keyboard (RZ03-00530100-R3U1) (Personal Computers) Goes really well with the Tron Mouse and Mousepad. Startup sound and light effects are awesome.
Every key is customisable and the detachable num pad is useful. The keys are pretty huge though, and would be better if the colours were changeable, also, the lack of USB ports was disappointing.
As far as gaming on it goes, after you get used to the key size, it is quite satisfying to use the plastic keys and the gaming function is a cool idea. Also, the ability to record macros without opening the User Interface is handy.
Thoroughly enjoy this product and whilst it has one or two shortcomings, as should be obvious the fact that it is Tron more than makes up for it if you are a fan.
Overall good job, Razer.
