It is much kinder to old arthritic hands and wrists, and because I'm probably the oldest webmaster in cyberspace, it is my salvation. It works with great precision and is ergonomically perfect for long hours of use. Whenever I have had to use someone else's computer and mouse, I feel like I've moved from a Ferrari to an Edsel. I recommend Kensington for any computing situation. Keep making them, Kensington!
Decent Device with Shortcomings, March 24, 2012 By This review is from: Kensington Expert Mouse - Trackball - optical - wired - PS/2, USB - EXPERT MOUSE USB PS/2 OP 4 BTN SCROLL RING (Office Product) I have used Kensington trackballs on my Mac computers for as many years as they have been making them. My feeling is that the devices are getting poorer in quality. Perhaps my memory is flawed, but I recall the earlier models rolling smoother. On the newest model -- I bought a new one several months ago -- the scroll wheel is clunky and the ball does not roll very smoothly. This is not because I have not broken the device in or that I perhaps got a bad unit (I bought the new one because the one I had exhibited the exact same issues). Further, the software seems to offer fewer fine tuning options.
My quest now is to find a higher quality trackball with real ball bearings (not the plastic nubs the Kensington uses) and a more responsive feel.
