Useful, but tricky to support & configure, May 21, 2012 By This review is from: Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station with Power, ACP71USZ (Black) (Personal Computers) This seems like the perfect solution if you have a laptop that doesn't have a proprietary, manufacturer-supported dock and want to have external monitors, keyboard, mouse, printer, etc -- basically to have the desktop experience with your laptop, while still being able to unplug it and take it with you.
For starters, I have been in the I.T. field for the past 20 years and have done more than my fair share of desktop support, so I fancy myself quite technically proficient and can solve most PC problems.
I give that prerequisite because this dock was a bit tricky to configure. It requires drivers and software to work correctly. Having used this model dock at work before, I knew that the CD that came with it had outdated drivers, so I went to the DisplayLink website to download the latest drivers from there. I ran the installation, and that went fine. However, Windows 7 SP1 64-bit still would not recognize the unit. I'd unplug the USB cable, wait, plug it back in,... Read more

Good Product poor service, March 19, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station with Power, ACP71USZ (Black) (Personal Computers) Just got a new ASUS U56 Computer and thought this would solve all my multiple wire problems. Got a ACP60 and didn't work Targus Suggested there was a problem with the dock so return. I did got another and tried it and didn't work after many phone calls and emails about how to fix problem to no fix. So ended up sending back to Targus then tried one more ACP71. It was perfect for my situation but yet again didn't work. Installed all proper drivers (per Targus INstructions) and to no avail not working yet again. I think they have some software issues and am just going to wait till software problems are resolved. Frustratred.

Power doesn't work with Samsung Series 9, June 20, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Targus USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station with Power, ACP71USZ (Black) (Personal Computers) The network and Video didn't work initially with our new Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C-A03US 15-Inch Laptop (Titan Silver), but after talking with Targus tech support, they suggested that we look into a driver update (which just came out today) from Samsung and that fixed the problem so it is mostly working great. The Power adapter does not fit this computer. They say that they are working on one, but gave no eta.
