I've had it just a few days. But I can't imagine living without it now! This thing is STURDY! To my mind the design is beautiful. And it does exactly exactly what you need, which is to have a monitor which can be raised or lowered, brought closer or pushed into the background, and turned every which way (including sideways!). I bought it to go with my new Mac Mini, Apple Mac Mini MC270LL/A Desktop, and a lovely monitor, ViewSonic's VX2250WM-LED 22-Inch (21.5-Inch Vis) Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED Monitor with Integrated Stereo Speakers, which would have been very stationary, not flexible.

The 3M cannot angle your TV/monitor down very much. It has the same downard tilt as the LX, but the advantage with the 3M is its max height, so I would think that you should be able to tilt it down even more for the best viewing angle. Maybe my situation is unique, so I'm keeping my rating at 5 stars. The 3M's base pole is at least 14" high (12" useable), and fully assembled, the possible height adjustment is better than the Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm 45-241-026, which has a shorter base pole as of July 2011. In addition, the 3M will rotate your monitor 90 degrees clockwise (for portrait viewing), while both the Ergotron LX and Neo-flex allow you to rotate in... Read more

This is my 4th desk mounted monitor arm. Until I tried this arm, the best one I had was an Ergotron. Ergotron makes a superb arm with only two problems- the cords shift and look messy whenever you move the arm and the worst problem is the arm vibrates on any little movement. If I moved in my chair, the joints on the arm would vibrate. If I move my mouse too much or the keyboard, the arm vibrates. When I use my printer, it feels like a minor earthquake shaking the desk.
Now for the first time ever, 3M has made a sleek, heavy duty monitor arm that not only keeps the cords tucked away perfectly when moving the arm, but due to this superior design, no matter what movement I make, there are no vibrations ever! I've owned two higher priced Ergotrons and another less known name arm, and as good as they are, they don't even compare to the sturdiness, design and high quality of this 3M model.
I love the capability of having more room on my desktop by having the monitor... Read more
