5.0 out of 5 stars At last a REAL ergonomic mouse!, August 28, 2009
This review is from: Goldtouch Ortho Mouse (Office Product)
I bought this as a recommendation from a friend, even though I had no medical problem. What a good advice! After using various mice for >20 years, most of which were calling themselves "ergonomic", this is the first time my hand is relaxed on the mouse. It is like you are standing in the bus for a long ride, and then finally someone gets off and frees up a place and you can sit down.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to read the instructions -- I know, who wants to read instructions? -- but bear with me. Three points were not obvious to me:
1. The mouse is not like your old mouse -- your hand needs to be relaxed on the mouse, or you won't see much difference. With older mice, the two fingers sort of float over the buttons so as not to press on them. With this mouse, the fingers are actually resting on the buttons, and apply additional pressure to activate.
2. The scrolling using buttons is a bit odd at first. You will generally need to single click the scroll buttons for paging... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Eliminate Wrist Pain & Inflamation, May 4, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Goldtouch Ortho Mouse (Office Product)
After researching "Orthopedic Mouse" extensively, I decided that the "Goldtouch" had the most promise for my condition (wrist and arm pain associated with carpal tunnel syndrome, after relief surgery). The Goldtouch mouse was easy to get used to, and the custom snap-in base parts allowed me to get a perfect and extremely comfortable (natural) fit. If you are experiencing discomfort, using this mouse should provide relief. Highly recommended! I only wish I had tried it before the Carpal Tunnel surgery!

3.0 out of 5 stars It isn't a Miracle, but it is Pricey!, March 7, 2010
This review is from: Goldtouch Ortho Mouse (Office Product)
I bought this via Amazon about a year ago, based on the reviews here. I've not been operated but I do have RSI symptoms on my wrist and elbow, and I am doing physical treatments to recover. I thought the Ortho Mouse would be an upgrade to my current devices which one is Microsoft's Optical Trackball, however, the clicks on the Ortho are very hard that they cause strain to my fingers and also arm. For someone who has to work in design programs such as Photoshop or other, the Ortho is a bit too hard with clicks. The positioning of the mouse is good, but you can also get that vertical position on the trackball and other devices at half price.

If you have a small, regular mouse, I recommend that you purchase a mouse that fits your whole hand and preferably the new ergonomic type that keep your hand and arm more vertical than horizontal. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this Ortho due to price, and also because there are better devices out there.

The best way to... Read more
